The main photography of this love story began in May 2008 and wrapped with 30 days of filming in June of that same year. Interestingly, the production team didn’t use or design an actual stage, as all scenes were recorded with locals as extras.

Fred’s Beds, located at 11125 Highway 17, was the main production site for the film. However, the shop did not consent to let the crew and the cast film inside following the decision that their name was featured in the racy sequence that involves researching for the orgy of a sex club.
Incredibly, even after obtaining permission and ordering The Wallnuts Crew to draw graffiti on the walls of a local establishment to be used as a backdrop for a photo shoot, The filming crew was stopped by the police, who did not know about the permission. The producers reportedly decided to film the scenes in Wilmington due to its structure, similar to The Hamptons, where the story takes place.

A good portion of “A Good Old Fashioned Orgy which includes the scenes from a house party, was shot in Hampstead, the unincorporated community that is a census-designated area within the state of North Carolina’s Pender County. Particularly, the property located at 659 Red Fox Trail in Hampstead was Eric’s home, where most of the elaborate parties were shot.
