Netflix’s “The Mole” is a reboot of the 2000s game show. It’s a reality show that features a unique format developed by Bart De Pauwe and Michel Vanhove, as well as Michiel Devlieger and Tom Lenaerts. Twelve participants are required to compete in various challenges that add money to a pot. The winner then takes home the prize. There is, however, a twist: the makers have chosen one player to be the “Mole,” and he secretly attempts to undermine each task and make others lose their money.
After each challenge, one contestant is eliminated. The voting system uses a quiz-based voting system where contestants attempt to identify the infiltrator. Alex Wagner hosts the game show, which tests twelve contestants’ physical skills and is also a battle for their wits to avoid suspicion. The viewers are also amazed by the variety of locations in which each challenge is held, and they wonder where “The Mole” was shot. We have the answers to your questions.

The Mole Filming Sites
The Mole is shot all over Australia, primarily in Queensland and New South Wales. The initial season of the show’s premiere iteration was filmed principally in 2021. Let’s now see all the amazing places that contestants visit on the show.
Queensland, Australia
Queensland is the second-largest state in Australia and the third most populated. The crew and cast first visited the Daintree rainforest, located north of Mossman on Queensland’s northeastern coast. It is part of the largest tropical rainforest that continues on the continent.
After filming the first challenge of the debut season, the filming team moved to Brisbane, Queensland’s capital. The filming unit set up camp at Boggo Road Gaol, Dutton Park. This prison was known for being one of Australia’s most notorious from 1883 to 1989. The team then traveled off the coast to Queensland, where they recorded a difficult segment for season 1. It was around the Great Barrier Reef. It’s the largest coral reef system in the world, with more than 2,900 reefs and 900 islands.
Ravenswood is a small town in the Charters Towers area that plays a key role in the production of the Netflix series. The Railway Hotel is a historic property on Barton Street, built in 1901. It hosted the team for the first season. They were reportedly able to lense sequences in Charters Towers, a nearby gold mining town. The sequences were shot in the Bank of New South Wales building at 34-36 Gill Street. This former bank, which was built in 1889, is a heritage site and one of Australia’s oldest.
Many parts of the show were taped in Gympie Region. This is a local government area located in the Wide Bay Burnett region between Sunshine Coast & Hervey Bay. Season 1 features several scenes with the iconic Spirit of the Mary Valley coal locomotive, which travels along the Mary Valley Rattler railway line.

New South Wales, Australia
Many scenes in ‘The Mole’ were filmed in New South Wales. This state is on Australia’s east coast and borders Queensland to its north. The state capital of Australia, Sydney, is where the production team set up camp. It is also the largest city in Oceania and Australia. They chose Chifley Tower, 2 Chifley Square, as their key location for the debut season. It is the tallest building in the city.
Some sequences were also recorded at Bill & Toni’s Italian Restaurant at 72-74 Stanley Street, Darlinghurst. This is a suburb in Sydney. The Blue Mountains, located west of Sydney, is another location that was used for filming. This area is well-known for its stunning scenery and mountain towns, which attract many tourists.
