How Did Allen Carter Die?
A Randall County, Texas, habitant, Allen Carter was quite popular in his locality. As a teacher by trade, Allen was a helpful person. People believed him to be generous and compassionate. In addition to being a favorite of his pupils, Allen was known for his friendly personality, and many of his friends reported that Allen was able to meet new people. In addition to that, Allen was a good citizen. Randall County resident was quite an upright and adamant citizen who didn’t hesitate to declare the right thing.

On March 12, 1994, Allen had been at the local jeweler store when he saw a man entering on the pretext of buying a ring to wear for his wedding. But, when the shop owner turned away from the attacker, he pulled out an assault weapon and demanded Allen and the shop owner be lowered to the floor. While both men initially appeared to agree, Allen decided to take the situation into his own hands and fought the gunman.
The sudden attack caught the gunman off guard. However, he killed Allen to the chest at least once. After that, as the two men fought to control the gun, The attacker fired at the teacher in the forehead before fleeing in a flash. When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Allen bleeding on the ground. They declared his body dead. In addition, an autopsy confirmed that a shot went through his hands and then into his face, killing him right on the scene.
Who Killed Allen Carter?
Incredibly, the shop owner was present during the entire incident, and based on his description. Authorities were able to narrow on Justin Dickens. According to the report, Justin had a difficult childhood because his father abandoned the family while his mother was also a heroin addict. But, as time passed, Justin got acquainted with tattoo artist Dallas Moore and began looking towards Moore as an idol for his father. But the show also revealed that Moore was not a good person, and Justin was slipping deeper into an addiction to drugs and theft.
However, the situation took a dramatic turn when Moore discovered cocaine that was missing from his store and took Justin accountable for it. The show mentioned that as his punishment, the then-seventeen-year-old was reportedly asked to take a gun and rob a local jewelry store. This was when Justin was able to get to the store and attempted to commit the burglary. But he was able to kill Allen Carter in the process and was detained three days following the killing.

Where is Justin Dickens Now?
In court, Justin Dickens was convicted of capital murder and sentenced in 1995. Then, he was in prison for approximately ten years before the American Supreme Court ruled that the death penalty was cruel and astonishing to juveniles. According to the records, Justin was just seventeen when Allen Carter killed him, and thus his death sentence was finally reduced in 2005. But Justin Dickens is now being sentenced to life in the Wynne Unit in Huntsville, Texas, and is eligible to be paroled in 2034.
