It’s easy to complain repeatedly about production studios and networks that are greenlighting the same intellectual property. Sometimes, the rage is justifiable, such as, did we really have to need a Josie or a Pussycats film or a terrible sci-fi war film made up of playing the card game Battleship?
However, there’s a reason that reboots do happen, and that’s because, most of the Time, viewers tune in to watch the shows. Is that the case with the show The Equalizer? Did CBS revive the series, or was it canceled?
Did ‘The Equalizer’ get renewed?
Based on the TVLine, CBS has renewed The Equalizer for a third and fourth season. Thom Sherman, CBS Entertainment’s Senior EVP of Programming, said that the show’s ongoing success was due to the outstanding elements of production: “An outstanding cast led by the superb Queen Latifah, plus the exceptionally creative team that has continued to evolve their storytelling with a compelling mix of everyday justice, family dynamics and real-world issues that connect and resonate with audiences.”

When will season 3 of “The Equalizer” begin?
We’re sure that people who are fans of the show like to know the answer ASAP; however, at the Time of writing, we don’t have a confirmed date for the premiere of The Equalizer Season 3. We can, however, draw an educated guess from the previous season. Season 2 premiered on the CBS fall lineup in the early part of the month of October 2021. So we can anticipate Season 3 to begin around the same date in 2022.
We do know seasons 3 and 4, which new showrunners will run. As per the earlier TVLine report, The Equalizer’s co-creators, Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller, are leaving as showrunners.

TVLine is hosting a survey of viewers for the season 2 final. At the Time of writing, 84 % of respondents rated the show’s finale with an A. less than 1% of viewers rated the episode an F.
But, Season 2 has garnered mixed reviews from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes. The whole season is rated only 48 percent based on the 33 user ratings. Although some have described the show as “amazing” and “addictive,” some have criticized Queen Latifah’s performance and criticized the show’s writers for making “two-dimensional” characters.
However, this hasn’t prevented CBS from reviving The Equalizer for a third season, and we’re more eager to see what the series will bring. As we look forward to The Equalizer Season 3, you can currently stream the entire Season 2 via Paramount Plus.
