In a news release on Tuesday, police said of the fact that their search for Quinton Simon is focusing on the site of a landfill, that is where Quinton Simon’s body is believed to have been taken following being thrown into the dumpster.
Investigators have not mentioned the reasons behind their conclusion.
Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley stated, “We know that this will be physically, mentally and emotionally exhausting task for our police investigators and their team. We are seeking justice for Quinton as we do for everyone other.”

After just a few days, Chatham County police revealed they believe the toddler may be dead. His mother, Leilani Simon, is believed to be the primary suspect. However, no arrests were made.

The police chief said officers had spoken to the boy’s father, who didn’t believe that he was involved. The officers conducted a quick investigation of the home but did not find him in the. The name of the father, Quinton Simon, was not found. Quinton Simon Father could be located.
Quinton Simmons is missing
The day that when the kid was missing Jeff stated that the mother’s partner told him he saw him after waking up on the 5th of October 2022 at 6 am.
Jeff stated, “Mother woke up at an earlier time and reported that the child was missing around 9:39. The boy’s father was not with him at the time of his disappearance. The child’s mother and boyfriend are working with police detectives.”

Quinton Simon Timeline
Quinton was found at around the time of 6 a.m. on the 5th of October in his playpen in the Buckhalter Road home. He was reported missing about 9 a.m. and the police are notified.
On the 6th of October, Jeff Hadley held a press conference stating that at least in part, police were treating the incident as a missing person investigation. He also said there no evidence to prove Quinton is no longer alive.
On the 11th of October, Chatham County Police issued an announcement that they had gathered evidence that they believed could lead to the conclusion of the investigation.
On the 18th of October, Police and the FBI found Quinton’s remains stored in a dumpster before being taken to a nearby dump.
A landfill search is in progress to locate the remains of the child.
