One of my favorite films was always the horror genre. The great effects these films are equipped with or the screams they induce for me, I enjoy a good horror film. Many enjoyable coming horror films are coming out within the next few years. I’m here to take the time to look at some of the top horror movies available on Paramount Plus.
If you’re a lover of horror and do not have the Paramount Plus subscription, it might be a good time to get one since these are among the top horror films Paramount Plus has to provide. From classics such as White Zombie to contemporary films like the newest release in The Scream Scream franchise, There’s plenty for everyone on this list.
Friday The 13th Part 2 (1981)
As one considered one of the most memorable installments within the series, Friday the 13th Part 2 is most well-known for the incredible thrills, chills, and killings; however, it also marks the return of one of the most famous horror characters.
Like the first film, Friday the 13th Part 2 is about counselors in the process of training in Camp Crystal Lake who find themselves being pursued by a masked killer following being told about Jason Voorhees, a camper, several years ago. While it is the same as its predecessor, the 1981 sequel has many memorable scenes.

White Zombie (1932)
One of the earliest horror films you can find in Paramount+, 1932’s White Zombie, is among the most significant. The film centers around Charles Beaumont (Robert W. Frazer), who is a plantation proprietor who has a plan set in motion to transform Madeline Short (Madge Bellamy) into a voodoo zombie so that she will remain his forever. However, the plan is shattered when the Haitian Voodoo master Murder Legendre (Bela Lugosi) introduces a radical change to the plot.
Don’t expect outstanding production values and nuanced storytelling or outstanding performances by actors on White Zombie since you won’t see them in this film. Ultimately, we’ll take you transported into the beginnings of Hollywood horror and compensate for the lack of quality with plenty of charm and wit.
Orphan (2009)
After bringing home, the normal orphanage named Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman), the mourning parents Kate (Vera Farmiga) and John Coleman (Peter Sarsgaard), discover that their looks are not always as they appear and that several strange incidents are traceable back to the birth of their daughter.
Though not exactly well-received by critics following the film’s release in 2009, Orphan has become somewhat of an iconic cult film throughout the last decade or so in such a way that it is set to get a sequel of its own in the summer of 2022. This makes it the perfect opportunity to revisit the largely forgotten masterpiece or even take it on for the first time.
The Ring (2002)
It’s certainly among the top well-known and popular horror films from the early part of the 21st Century. The Ring is the story of investigative reporter Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) when she begins looking into a mysterious tape claiming the victims’ lives seven days after viewing the tape’s content.
The 1998 Japanese horror film inspired it with the same title that was itself an adaptation of the horror novel The Ring was an absolute hit upon its release and in the years that followed. Although it’s not being discussed even 20 years after its release, the film remains an excellent instance of horror that is worth watching.

The Scream Movies (1996 – 2022)
For over 25 years over the past 25 years, for more than 25 years, the Scream franchise has been among the most well-known and popular horror franchises around. The initial tale that follows Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), Dewey Riley (David Arquette) as well as Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) trying to stop an evil person wearing the form of a Ghostface mask has evolved into five episodes of slasher awe with the twists and turns on every corner.

The young couple is unaware that they’re about to confront absolute evil.
Since its debut in 2007, Paranormal Activity has been an extremely popular film the present. It also helped usher in a brand new period of filmmaking using found footage films as a genre that has taken the world of horror to the forefront in the last decade since its debut.
Overlord (2018)
A group of American paratroopers starts their mission behind enemy lines on the night before D-Day. They soon realize that the small French village under Nazi control is more dangerous, deadly, and terrifying than they have imagined. The situation worsens after the soldiers find an underground lab that has been the subject of horrific experiments and produced a zombie army.
There have been many Nazi zombie films released throughout the years. However, none of them has as many thrills, terror, and intrigue as the 2019 version of Overlord. Julius Avery’s explosive war film will keep you wondering what’s waiting on every corner.
Saint Maud (2019)
A hospice nurse with an unhappy history and a new fervor toward that Roman Catholic church named Katie (Morfydd Clark) adopts the new name Maud and is employed as a nurse in hospice in the fight to rescue the patient she believes will suffer eternal punishment in the event of death, regardless of the length of time it takes.
Though it’s not a fast-paced affair, Saint Maud deserves its place in the top 10 top A24 horror films due to the way that director and writer Rose Glass tackles death, the rebirth of sin, rebirth, and religious fervor all over the world. It’s beautiful. It’s daring. It’s terrifying.

A Quiet Place Parts 1 and 2 (2018, 2021)
“A Quiet Place” is definitely one of the best contemporary horror film franchises that merit the praise it has received so many. “A Quiet Place” takes its place within a realm which is inhabited by alien monsters that can’t see but possess an acute sense of hearing. The family has to be still at all times since if they let out an earful, the aliens will pursue them and even kill them.
The film stars real-life couple John Krasinski and actress Emily Blunt. A Quiet Place is one of the most impressive pieces of cinema for me. I can remember when I first saw the film. I felt like it was as if I was a part of the movie and that if there was a noise, the monster would be there to take me away. The acting is flawless, The story is entertaining and frightening The sound design is perfect. I could go on about how amazing this film is. The sequel was equally excellent, if not even more thrilling, and filled with shocking scenes with some truly frightening moments. If you haven’t yet seen the series yet, go check it out right now. There are already plans for the third Quiet Place movie.
World War Z (2013)
The story is based on a Max Brooks novel. In World War Z, an ex-United Nations employee travels across the globe in a race against the clock to stop a deadly zombie outbreak that has taken over governments and armies and is poised to decimate the last remnants of humanity. It is his responsibility to discover a solution to stop the spread.
Do you want a super scary zombie movie? World War has it covered. Its star Brad Pitt is excellent in his lead action role, and the rest of the film will make you feel fearful – but in the best way. I’ll tell you that as someone who is a lover of this genre of zombies, including shows such as The Walking Dead or the forthcoming The Last of Us television adaptation, World War Z is one of the zombie films that truly scares the living crap out me. The zombies are quick, can destroy you in just a few seconds, and be revived instantly. It’s horrifying. This is the perfect film for the frightening film.
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1956)
An additional classic movie about terror, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, tells the tale of an alien invasion that takes place in California and is a result of aliens who transform into giant seed pods capable of producing a visually like human replacement.
I think films about aliens grew in popularity because of iconic films like this. While it’s straightforward in its concept and doesn’t feature any fancy effect, Invasion of the Body Snatchers remains frightening. One of those cases in which you’re not sure who’s who unless you know someone personally, and anyone can have the invader’s identity. Even you. At all times, this is an enjoyable film that offers an enjoyable mix of sci-fi and horror without having to create any weird effects or anything else.
Night Of The Living Dead (1968)
God, would you like to discuss the classics? One of them is. Directed by George A. Romero, Night of the Living Dead tells the old tale of the zombies, which follows seven people locked in a farmhouse in Pennsylvania that is being pursued by many undead ghouls who are getting bigger every time second.
Night of the Living Dead walked, and shows like The Walking Dead or films like World War could be on the air. The Walking Dead is a zombie film to watch if you love zombies, horror, or both. The story is exciting from start to finish, with twists and turns at every turn you turn, paired with the most expertly-done makeup for the zombies and gruesome killings. In my opinion, I can’t imagine that a real zombie film can become as famous as Night of the Living Dead. It’s simply too good.

After She Is Waken (2019)
Then, we’ve got After She Wakes. The horror film tells the story of a mother and her daughter dealing with their grief after tragic events and suffering from sleep disturbances that turn into monsters in an incredibly new world.
Although When After She Wakesis one of the lesser films than other films listed, I have the film in high regard in my heart because the idea is terrifying. It makes me think of the horror of The Nightmare On Elm Street. It’s easy to think that you’re the most secure when you go to bed, but these creatures from their nightmare appear in horrifying ways. This film will not only make you scared, but it will cause you to be afraid of going to bed – but it’s good fun, isn’t it? There aren’t any scary creatures here.
But at least not now.
They’re truly among the top films available to stream on Paramount Plus, and I hope that if you haven’t watched any of them, try them and shoot them right now. You’ll be able to experience some great stories, thrilling scares, and disgusting effects. Enjoy watching!
