Granger Taylor was 32 when he disappeared. His acquaintances believed him to be a bit of a genius. Granger Taylor was described as a kind, generous person who treated everyone with kindness. However, there are reports that Granger preferred to be alone and didn’t socialize with many people. Granger’s lack of social skills was compensated by his passion for mechanics and desire to learn more about them. Granger actually started with small toys in his bedroom. By age 22, Granger had built his own spaceship, repaired a locomotive engine and restored a plane from World War II. Granger’s fascination with aliens would lead him to walk out of his home on a stormy night, as people didn’t know.

People were afraid to leave their homes when strong winds blew over Vancouver Island on November 29, 1980. Granger, who lived in Duncan, British Columbia, with his stepfather, had long dreamed of space travel. Granger then left his belongings behind, including his identity documents and around 10,000 CAD in cash. He then taped a note to his stepfather’s front door and drove off in his truck.
Granger had spoken of going into space with aliens in it when his stepfather found the note. Granger, 32 years old, even claimed that he had left behind his belongings and promised to return in 42 months. Despite the cryptic note, Granger’s stepfather was concerned that Granger was not home. After the storm had subsided, Granger’s stepfather went to search some nearby areas but found no information about Granger or his truck. Fearing the worst, Granger reported Granger missing to authorities.

Granger Taylor is still missing, as his body has not been found. Reports indicate that both the official and general consensus believe that he has died since then. After Granger disappeared, authorities immediately began investigating the matter and searching for any possible places Granger might have been. The police also interviewed Granger’s acquaintances but could not find a suspect.

Granger was last seen alive by an employee of Bob’s Grill. He went there to get some food before disappearing into the storm. Later, the waitress mentioned that Granger didn’t have his coat on. This indicated that Granger knew he wouldn’t need it. Granger disappeared in the doghouse, and his stepfather discovered the coat days later. These seemed to be possible clues, so authorities began further searches. However, it was difficult for authorities to conduct an investigation without any leads.
Unfortunately, no further information was available on the case until 1986, when a lumberjack called the police to report that he saw Granger’s truck in the wooded area just outside of the town. The vehicle had been completely damaged by what appeared to be an explosion when authorities arrived at the scene. The blast was so strong that metal parts of the vehicle were suspended from trees nearby. Granger’s stepfather also revealed that some dynamite was also missing from Granger’s home on the day his stepson vanished. The police connected the two, concluding that Granger was killed when the dynamite exploded. Granger has been officially declared dead, but his body has not been located, and there are many questions his family still has to answer.
