Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer, who was often referred to as Milwaukee Cannibal, also known as The Milwaukee Monster, was an American serial killer and sex offender who carried out the killing and the dismemberment of 17 teens and men between 1978 and 1991. A large portion of his later murders was based on necrophilia, cannibalism as well as the preservation for the foreseeable future of body organs, typically in the form of a complete or partial body skeleton.

Although he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, schizotypal disorder and psychotic disorder, Dahmer was found legally sane in his trial. Dahmer was found guilty of 15 of the 16 murders that he committed in Wisconsin and sentenced to fifteen life sentences on February 17, 1992. Dahmer was sentenced later to sixteen life terms for a second homicide he committed in Ohio in the year 1978.
On November 28 1994, Dahmer was brutally beaten until death by Christopher Scarver, a fellow prisoner at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin.
